By December 17, 800,000 stimulus payments will have been sent to California citizens. The value of these checks ranges from $600 to $1,100. California’s Golden State Stimulus II program is distributing cheques totaling $12 billion to qualified citizens.

The money will most likely be made in the same manner as your tax refund. Direct deposits should show in savings accounts within a few days after being received, although paper checks may take several weeks.

To be eligible for the payout, you must have lived in California for more than six months in 2020 and still be a resident when the payments are made. Those earning between $1 and $75,000 are qualified as long as their 2020 taxes are submitted before Oct. 15. A total of $563 million in stimulus funds will be distributed by December 17.

To be eligible for the payments, you must have lived in California for more than half of the fiscal year 2020 and still be a citizen of the state when the payment is made.
