According to a study, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is one of the highest-paid coaches in the country.
Mike Tomlin, who earns $11.5 million per year, is tied with Spurs coach Gregg Popovich for the highest-paid coach in American sports, according to Sportico.
Sportico claims to have identified 25 coaches who make at least $8 million per year. The NFL has the most (14), followed by the NBA (seven) and college football (three). In college basketball, Kentucky’s John Calipari earns more than $8 million every year.
Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots is at the top of the list at $18 million per year, far ahead of the rest of the pack, with the two coaches tied for second at $14 million.
Under Tomlin, the Steelers have gone 14 straight seasons without a loss. He recently won his 150th game and holds the record for the most wins by a Black NFL coach.
He is the Steelers’ second-winningest head football coach, trailing only Chuck Noll, who completed 193 matches as head coach.
