In college, he played basketball for the Colorado Buffaloes. He was selected by the Detroit Pistons in the second round of the 2014 NBA draft after the injury of his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), even though due to his injury he has missed most of his productive time however the professional player recovered and played well.

High school career

College career
In 2011, Dinwiddie stepped on the Colorado campus and made his collegiate debut in a 32-point. He won over Fort Lewis with seven points and seven rebounds. When Spencer played against Georgia, he scored twice in his sixth outing.
