The Swedish Princess Sofia brings back her favourite tiara. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Swedish royal family didn’t go to the Nobel Prize Banquet in Stockholm for two years. This weekend was the first time they went back.

Royals wear tiaras and ballgowns with lots of sparkle to honour Nobel Prize winners. “After a few years, we finally celebrated Nobel Laureates!” Princess Sofia, 38, and Prince Carl Philip, 43, posted a picture of their dinner attire in front of a candle-lit Christmas tree on Instagram on Saturday.

Princess Sofia wore an icy blue dress with transparent elbow-length sleeves and a flower-decorated collar when she went out. King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia gave her a wedding tiara as a gift. This was the last piece of her wedding outfit.

Princess Sofia wore the tiara with pale blue jewels to the Nobel Prize luncheon to match her robe. The royal mom of three has worn the tiara with diamond, pearl, and turquoise toppers to match most of her outfits. At the Nobel Prize luncheon, Crown Princess Victoria wore a bubble gum pink outfit by Camilla Thulin.

The designer said on Instagram that the satin ballgown was draped and sewn by hand. Her diamond earrings, necklace with blue and pink stones, and ribbon all went together. The Swedish heir wore the Diamond Six-Button Tiara to the same event.

Queen Silvia wore an amethyst tiara that had been worn before. It went with her purple dress. The tiara has been worn by Queen Silvia’s three daughters, Crown Princess Victoria, Princess Madeleine, and Princess Sofia.

Before the evening ceremony, King Carl XVI Gustaf congratulated the 2022 Nobel Prize winners in Stockholm’s concert hall. Sunday night, at the Nobel Prize banquet at the castle, the royal women wore tiaras again.

After a short welcome, they walked into the ballroom. Riksdag, the government, the diplomatic corps, academies, research, science, the Nobel Foundation, and others were invited.
