High School Career

  1. If you lived in the area, Stauskas would play for Loyola Catholic Secondary School until 2009. At the start of the season, he averaged 15 points and five assists. Then he averaged 32 points per game in 2008–09. Ro Russell runs the best amateur athletics team in Toronto, and Stauskas also joined the Toronto team he runs.
  2. Stauskas went to South Kent School for the 2009–10 school year. The next year, he went to St. Mark’s School instead. Coach John Beilein became familiar with Stauskas during the Summer 2010 NBA camp before Stauskas was even a junior.
  3. On March 26, 2011, Stauskas made a promise to Michigan. In 2012, he became the second member of Michigan’s new class. A group of Canadian high school all-stars played Baylor Bears men’s basketball that summer. He scored 27 points in the game.
  4. Before his senior year, ESPN said that he was one of the best three-point shooters in the country in the class of 2012. With their National Letter of Intents in November 2011, Stauskas, Robinson III, and McGary gave Michigan a consensus top 10 class for its 2012 class.
