Midlothian Is Temporarily Closed Due to A Two-Car Collision


12th Dec, Sunday evening, a part of East Midlothian Boulevard in Youngstown was closed.

Just before 8 p.m., a two-car accident occurred near Simon Road.

Police have not stated whether or not anyone was injured.

2 days before this accident, an another serious accident happened outside Midlothian Strip Mall. After the accident outside a Secretary of State facility Wednesday afternoon, two persons were killed and an elderly driver was critically injured.

Police said they were summoned to the facility’s parking lot at 14434 Pulaski Road after receiving complaints of people being struck. When they arrived, they discovered that an older guy driving in the parking lot had had a medical emergency.

As a response, he slammed on the brakes and accelerated, colliding with multiple parked automobiles and two elderly people before collapsing into the building and coming to a stop, according to police.

According to authorities, the driver and both pedestrians were brought to Christ Hospital in critical condition. The pedestrians, an 80-year-old man and a 75-year-old lady, died in the hospital later that day. There has been no update on the elderly driver involved in the accident.

The man’s name was Thomas Coyne, and the woman’s name was Kathleen Coyne.
