According to a team representative, Mississippi State football wide receiver Malik Heath was involved in an automobile accident on Thursday and is seeking medical care.
The Bulldogs are “continuing to gather additional information,” according to the spokeswoman.
Prior to last week’s Egg Bowl loss to Ole Miss, Heath took part in Senior Day activities. This season, the Jackson native has 34 catches for 442 yards and five touchdowns.
Aaron Brule, a linebacker for Mississippi State, has entered the transfer portal.
The Liberty Bowl in Memphis has shown a strong desire to host Mississippi State football.
Heath’s health was not immediately available for comment.
According to the Clarion Ledger, Malik Heath is undergoing medical care after being involved in an automobile collision on Thursday.
The Bulldogs are “contuning to acquire additional information,” according to a Bulldogs representative.
Heath is a Jackson native and a senior wide receiver for Mississippi State. He has five touchdowns this season and eight overall touchdowns in his career, with 749 total yards.
Aaron Brule, a linebacker for Mississippi State, entered the transfer portal on Thursday after recording eight tackles for loss this season. As a graduate transfer, Brule will be accessible.
Brule was a key member of Georgia’s defense, starting 19 games in his career, including eight this season. Brule had 18 tackles for loss and 142 tackles in 40 games. This season, he tied for fourth on the team with 53 tackles.
