Julian Sands, a British Actor, Has Been Identified as a Missing Hiker
The British actor Julian Sands, who is known for his roles in shows like “24” and movies like “A Room with a View” and “Arachnophobia,” has been identified as a hiker who hasn’t been seen since last Friday in the Mt. Baldy, California area.
A department spokesperson named Gloria Huerta said that Sands was reported missing at 7:30 p.m. on January 13. CNN has asked Sands’s people what they think about it. Mt. Baldy is in the San Gabriel Mountains, which are in San Bernardino County.
Huerta said that search and rescue teams were on the mountain looking for Sands, but they had to stop for the day because of bad weather and the risk of an avalanche.
Officials are still looking for Sands with the help of drones, but the weather on Mt. Baldy makes it hard to use other tools. Huerta continued by saying.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department recently told hikers not to go to Mt. Baldy, where dangerous conditions are still caused by high winds and ice.
A Facebook post says that in the last four weeks, the agency has helped with 14 rescues only Mt. Bald and in the area around it. “These rescue missions were for hikers who got lost, got stuck, or got hurt.”
“Unfortunately, two hikers who fell and hurt themselves in the last four weeks did not make it,” the post said. “Recent storms have brought snow and ice that make hiking dangerous, even for people who think they have a lot of hiking experience.”
Sands has also been in movies and TV shows like “The Killing Fields,” “Leaving Las Vegas,” and “Smallville.” One of his most recent roles was in “What/If,” a TV show on Netflix.
