In a Recent Interview, Jane Fonda Revealed That Her Cancer Has Gone Into Remission

“My oncologist told me last week that my cancer is in remission and that I may stop chemo,” the 84-year-old “Grace and Frankie” actor wrote in a blog post headlined “Best Birthday Present Ever.”
Fonda expressed gratitude to everyone who “prayed and offered positive vibes my way.”
Fonda utilized the news to highlight her environmental advocacy.
“I’m especially glad since, while my first four chemo treatments were quite simple for me, with only a few days of tiredness, the last chemo session was unpleasant and lasted two weeks, making it difficult to achieve much,” she explained.
“The effects wore off just as I traveled to Washington, D.C. for the first live, in-person Fire Drill Fridays rally.”
Fire Drill Fridays are Friday protests in Washington, D.C. intended at combating the climate problem. Fonda was detained at several of the events in 2019.

Fonda also urged people to contact their legislators to reject Sen. Joe Manchin’s proposal to change the government’s regulatory process for energy projects, dubbed the “Dirty Deal.”
“This deal, dubbed ‘permitting reform,’ seeks to expedite fossil fuel projects while undermining bedrock environmental safeguards and limiting the public’s ability to participate, effectively throwing marginalized communities disproportionately burdened by fossil fuel pollution under the bus,” she wrote.

When Fonda originally publicized her cancer diagnosis, she noted that it was “a highly manageable illness” and called for increased access to health care.
“Almost every family in America has had to deal with cancer at one time or another and far too many don’t have access to the wonderful health care I am receiving and this is not acceptable,” she wrote.
Fonda previously battled breast cancer in 2010. She had the tumor removed, and her spokesperson stated that she was “100% cancer free.”
