In a ‘fairytale’ Wedding, Rebecca Ferguson Weds Jonny Hughes
The singer of “Nothing’s Real But Love,” who became famous when she made it to the final of “The X Factor” in 2010, got married to Jonny Hughes on November 12 in a “fairytale” ceremony at London’s Dorchester Hotel, and she couldn’t be happier.
In the new issue of Britain’s HELLO! magazine, she said, “I’m at a point in my life where I’m very happy and content.” Rebecca’s three children from previous relationships, Lillie, 18, Karl, 16, and Arabella, 8, were among the guests.
The venue choice was a “dream come true” for Rebecca. She told me: “When I was just starting out, I used to take the Megabus from Liverpool to London. It didn’t cost much at all. We used to pass Park Lane on the road.
“It kept me going because every time I saw The Dorchester, I told myself, “One day, I’ll be able to stay there.” For me, getting married there was a dream come true.”
The 36-year-old singer walked down the aisle in a champagne-colored gown with crystals and beads. She chose this dress on purpose because it had to be more elaborate than her stage outfits.
She told him: “It weighed so much. I’m used to wearing gowns because I’m often on stage, so this one had to be a bit more.” Rebecca’s new husband liked the dress she chose.
The agent for sports said: “Rebecca looked beautiful, and when we looked at each other as she walked down the aisle, it was a lovely moment.
“When Rebecca walked in, Lillie started crying, which was a very touching sight. We all felt like crying.” They’ve been together for five years and got engaged over the holidays last year.
