When Quickley was a senior, he was named the HoopHall Classic’s Most Valuable Player after scoring 19 points in a 71–58 loss to Hudson Catholic High School in the tournament’s championship game.

During his final season, he averaged 20.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 3.7 steals per game, and he helped his team win the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference championship. After being named a McDonald’s All-American, Quickley was invited to take part in the Powerade Jam Fest 3-point shootout.

College Career

Quickley averaged 5.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game during his freshman season. Fast forward to November 8, 2019, and Quickley had 16 points in a 91–49 victory over Eastern Kentucky. On December 28, he scored 18 points in a 78–70 overtime win over rival Louisville at the University of Kentucky.

After making a career-high eight three-pointers in the first half of a 69–60 win over Texas A&M on February 25, 2020, Quickley finished with a career-high 30 points in the second half. The SEC announced that Quickley had been named Player of the Year and to the SEC First Team following the conclusion of the regular season on March 31.

As a sophomore, he scored 16.1 points and pulled down 4.2 rebounds per game on average. Quickley declared for the 2020 NBA draught and hired an agent following the conclusion of the regular season.

Professional Career

He was chosen by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the 25th pick in the 2020 NBA draught. He was traded to the New York Knicks on November 20, 2020, as part of a deal for the 23rd pick, Leandro Bolmaro.

He joined the Knicks on November 28, 2013. Quickley made his NBA debut on December 23. He scored five points and left the game in the second quarter because he was hurt. The Knicks beat the Indiana Pacers 106–102 on January 2, 2021, when he came back from an injury.
