Revelers are hoping to start the party on early or keep it going on the way home which is out of luck.

The MTA had banned alcohol on the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North trains and had platforms from 4 a.m. on Saturday until noon on Sunday.

Extra MTA cops will be on hand at the Penn Station and had Grand Central Terminal to take away any alcohol and issue summonses in the body.

“There may be many riders coming back to the train for the first time since the start of the corona pandemic,” said MTA Police Chief Joseph McGrann. “It is important for all we do everything we can do to maintain orderly travel so that everyone will able to enjoy their holiday plans by getting to their destinations by smoothly and on the time.”

This year’s SantaCon bar crawl will starts at 11 a.m. Saturday at 40th Street and on the Broadway.

Organizers were telling participants had to obey the city’s vaccine requirements.

The annual event had been canceled last year due to the corona virus and pandemic as its cause.

With this year’s SantaCon festivities had been just days away, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) had been announced on Wednesday it will be on ban alcohol consumption on the Metro-North Railroad and Long Island Rail Road trains which is during the weekend.

The ban will be taken effect from 4 a.m. on Saturday through 12 p.m. on Sunday, the agency had said.

As in the years past, alcohol consumption will going to be prohibited at all the LIRR and Metro-North station platforms and the trains during these all hours.

“There may be many riders is going to coming back to the train for the first time since the starting of the pandemic problem,” said by the MTA Police Chief Joseph McGrann.

“It has been important we do everything that we can to maintain orderly travel so that everyone can able to enjoy their holiday plans by getting to their destinations by smoothly and on the time.”
