French professional basketball player Evan Mehdi Fournier was born on October 29, 1992. He plays for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association, where he is a member of the French team (NBA). It took him from 2007 to 2009 to play junior basketball at the French INSEP school for kids.

Early Life

Twenty-nine years ago today, Fournier was born in Saint-Maurice, a small town outside of Paris. When he was born, his mother came from a country called Algeria. His father is from France. When he saw the 2001–02 Sacramento Kings team play, he became interested in the sport.

Professional Career

  • He signed a one-year deal with JSF Nanterre, a team in the LNB Pro B, in September 2009. At the end of 2010, he agreed to play for Poitiers Basket 86 for two years.
  • On June 28, 2012, the Denver Nuggets chose Fournier with the 20th pick in the 2012 NBA draught. The Nuggets signed him up on July 11, 2012, when he was still young enough to get paid. Afterward, he joined the Nuggets for the 2012 NBA Summer League.
  • During the 2013 NBA Summer League, Fournier came back to the Nuggets. A team option on Fournier’s rookie contract was used by the Nuggets to keep the contract through the 2014–15 season on October 30, 2013. At the Sacramento Kings on February 23, 2014, Fournier scored a then-career-high 27 points for the first time in his career.
  • Afflalo and the draught rights to Devyn Marble were traded with Fournier on June 26, 2014. They were traded to Orlando Magic in exchange for Fournier and the draught rights to Marble. It was on October 26, 2013, that the Magic exercised their fourth-year team option on Fournier’s rookie scale contract.
  • The contract will now run through the 2015–16 season, which is the end of the contract. On November 12, 2014, Fournier scored 28 points on 8-of-14 shooting in a 97–95 victory over the New York Knicks.
  • On November 3, 2015, Fournier scored 30 points in a 103–94 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. This was a new record for him. Against the Denver Nuggets on March 15, 2016, Fournier set a new record for points with 30.
  • A five-year, $85 million deal was signed by Fournier on July 7, 2016. It was against the Sacramento Kings on November 3, 2016, when he scored a season-high 29 points.
  • This is what happened on January 16, 2018. Fournier had 28 points and 4 rebounds for the first time in his career, and the Minnesota Timberwolves lost 108–102 to him. He sprained his left medial collateral ligament on March 7, 2018, when he played against the LA Lakers. He was then told that he couldn’t play for a long time.
  • A 100-96 victory over Golden State on December 1, 2019, was Fournier’s best game ever with 32 points. It happened on March 25, 2021. Jeff Teague and two second-round draught picks were traded for Fournier.
  • On April 2, Fournier scored 23 points and made seven 3-pointers in a 118–102 victory over the Houston Rockets. With 20 points in the fourth quarter, Fournier became only the second Celtics player to score 20 points in a quarter since Paul Pierce.
  • In a sign-and-trade deal with the Celtics, the New York Knicks got Fournier on August 17, 2021. On October 20, Fournier played his first game for the Knicks. He scored 32 points in a 138–134 double-overtime victory over the Boston Celtics.
  • On January 6, 2022, Fournier set a new record for points in a game. He scored 41 points with 10 three-pointers and eight rebounds in a 108–105 win over the Celtics. John Starks set the record for most 3-pointers made in a season for the Knicks in 1995. On March 23, in a 121–106 win over Charlotte, he broke it (217).
