David Savage Is Charged With Murdering His Girlfriend And Opening Fire On Officers At The SEPTA Terminal In Upper Darby

According to the Delaware County district attorney, a man is charged with murder and many counts of attempted murder after killing his girlfriend and firing firearms outside the 69th Street SEPTA Terminal, wounding one person. David Savage, 45, was apprehended immediately after a gunfight with cops on Thursday.

According to District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer, Savage shot and murdered Latoya Gary on Friday. According to authorities, he murdered Gary while she was sleeping.

“To begin this series of events, David Savage violently assassinated his personal companion, Latoya Gary.” But this was a heinous, heinous murder. “This is how evil appears,” Stollsteimer stated.

Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt used Friday’s news conference to reach out to other victims of domestic violence before it was too late.

“It also refers to the senseless act of domestic violence.” And I’d want to use this opportunity to encourage anyone who is in an abusive relationship that they should seek the care and support that they deserve. And we have that support here in Upper Darby Township with our domestic violence initiative, so please ask for it,” he urged.

Savage opened fire outside the terminal, hurting a guy when he shot into the air, as a result of the sequence of events.

For shooting at cops, Savage is also charged with aggravated assault.

Savage had a criminal history in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, which was significant enough that he was prohibited from possessing a handgun. Meanwhile, when questioned, the DA gave his opinion on the epidemic of violence in our region and across the country in 2021.
