Colts Center Ryan Kelly Announces Tragic Death Of His Daughter

Colts centre Ryan Kelly announced the completion of his young daughter, Mary Kate, who died of heart failure halfway throughout his wife’s pregnancy, in a heartbreaking social media post.

Kelly was unable to play in his team’s Week 15 game against the Colts, which took place just one day after his daughter was born.

Kelly wrote, “Nothing makes me happier than being your Dad.” “You gave that gift to your mother and me.” You were, and it always will be, a miracle. I’m sorry you never got to see each other or take thier first steps because you were born with angel wings. We know you left this world far too young, but we also know God had a greater plan for you. Your mother and I take comfort in knowing that your grandparents and parents are looking after you.

I’ll always be curious about who you’d be today. I adore you, my lovely girl, till we meet again.

Kelly’s wife, Emma, stated on Instagram that they lost the baby 19 weeks through into pregnancy and that she had to deliver her soon after.

“I was always so angry beforehand that I would just have to deliver her,” Emma wrote, “only for it to turn out to be the greatest blessing out of this horror.” “It provided Ryan and me the chance to hold Mary Kate, our little Saint, before saying our final goodbyes. These 19 weeks with her opened our hearts and spirits in ways we never believed possible, and I’ll be forever happy we got to spend some time with the little child who made us mom and dad on this side of the world. She was little, perfect, and adored by everyone who knew who she was.”

In Kelly’s absence, the Colts defeated the Patriots 27–17, with teammates showing their support to Kelly and his family during this difficult time.

Everything we had to do show him how much we care about this game.” “According to Nate Atkins of that Indianapolis Star, Colts CB Kenny Moore II stated. “Off the field, we can show him the same love and attention…. It just goes to show that life hits everyone hard at some point. We’re here thinking of Ryan and his family at this difficult time.”
