Chrissy Teigen Gives Birth to a Son, and She and Husband John Legend Are Overjoyed
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s rainbow baby has arrived. On Friday, January 13, the “Chrissy’s Court” star gave birth to a baby boy, making the Legend family of five! The exciting news came from the 12-time Grammy winner a few hours after his son arrived at a private concert that night.
He told the crowd that Teigen had “the baby this morning.” Even though Legend said he didn’t get “a lot of sleep,” he said that after spending “a lot of time” in the hospital, he “feels energized.”
People who were there said that he also said, “What a blessed day.” Teigen, who is 37, and Legend, who is 43, have two kids, Luna, 6, and Miles, 4. They were born in April 2016 and May 2018, respectively.
In August 2020, the author of the “Cravings” cookbook announced that she was expecting her third child. She showed off her pregnancy in the “Wild” music video by the EGOT winner.
The next month, Teigen lost the baby because part of the placenta came out too soon. At the time, the former “Lip Sync Battle” co-host shared private hospital photos with her late son, Jack. Teigen defended the Instagram post in October 2020 by saying that the criticism “didn’t matter” to her in a Medium essay.
The former “Bring the Funny” judge said at the time, “I knew I had to remember this moment forever, just like I had to remember us kissing at the end of the aisle or crying with happiness after Luna and Miles.”
Legend agreed with Teigen’s choice on “Good Morning America” in November 2020, saying, “I didn’t want to remember this pain… The photos, on the other hand, are a way to remember him.”
The couple kept talking about their loss and how they were going to try to have another child. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model wrote on Instagram in February, “I wanted to let you guys know I’m in the middle of another IVF cycle to save as many eggs as I can and hopefully make some strong, healthy embryos.”
Teigen finished the process the next month, and she told everyone in August that she was pregnant. “To say the least, the last few years have been a blur of emotions, but joy has filled our home and hearts again,” the star, who was pregnant at the time, wrote in the caption for her first photo of her baby bump.
“After 1 billion shots (the most recent one was in the leg, as you can see! ), we’re getting another,” she said. “I don’t think I’ve ever left an appointment feeling more excited than nervous, but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful, and I feel hopeful and amazing.”
