Caldwell High School’s Coach Was Killed In A Car Accident On Texas 21 And OSR


According to Police authority of Bryan, a Caldwell High School basketball coach was killed in an accident (18-wheeler collision) near the intersection of Texas 21 and OSR on Friday morning.

Police identified the guy as Ryan Hooper, 29, of Bryan-College Station. According to a statement from the Caldwell school system, Hooper coached junior high football and high school basketball and taught seventh grade character education.

“He was a much-loved teacher and coach,” according to the statement. “The passing of Mr. Hooper has had a major impact on our whole school community.”


Counselors will be present to assist children who require assistance, according to the school system.

According to early findings, the 18-wheeler failed to yield when making a left turn from Texas 21 to OSR. According to police, the motorist was cited for failing to cede right of way.

According to BPD’s preliminary investigation, the truck failed to cede right of way when turning left from 21 to OSR.

The motorist was penalized for failing to cede the right of way despite cooperating with officers.

Ryan Hooper, 29, of the Bryan/College Station area, was the victim.

Hooper teaches 7th grade instructional practices and coached Caldwell High School basketball and junior high football, according to Caldwell ISD social media. “We expect a range of emotions to this loss from our kids, parents, and members of our staff,” according to Caldwell ISD’s social media. Counselors are accessible to any student or staff member who requires assistance.”
