The payments, which are part of the $40 billion Higher Education Emergency Assistance Fund, will give pandemic relief to students and institutions around the country.

As a result, hundreds of universities have received a share of these monies and have begun to distribute stimulus payments to students.

Meharry Medical College, a historically black medical school, has distributed $10,000 awards to the majority of its 956 students.

Those who have direct deposits should have received their payouts by the end of last week.

Students who did not choose for direct deposit, as according President James Hildreth, can pick up their checks at Campus’ Cashier’s office on the 5th floor of the LRC.

Bushnell University distributed $642,674 to 206 students.

Students must be enrolled in college on or after March 13, 2020, and be able to “show extraordinary need – either through the FAFSA or the online application” to be eligible.

On average, qualified students got $3,120 in awards, with some receiving up to $6,500.

Penn State awarded almost 31,000 students awards ranging from $1,000 to $1,800 in its initial round of financing, which closed on November 15.

For the second round, students with “severe financial” requirements can apply for $1,000 in support.

This option is open to people who did not qualify for the first round.

In addition, Florida State University awarded $17.7 million in awards to 16,000 students last month.

But there’s more where it came from, as certain students may soon be awarded awards.

Notably, Duke University will provide awards of $1,750 or $3,000 in December.

Qualified Americans can apply for a $600 stimulus check as part of the $700 million Farm and Food Worker Relief Grant Program.

According to ASDA, the grants are awarded to state agencies, tribal entities, and nonprofit groups that offer valuable services to farmworkers or meatpacking workers.

The $600 stimulus cheques to pay “expenses” and Covid costs are part of the Farm and Food Workers program, which was unveiled earlier this month by the United States Department of Agriculture.
