When it comes to the third round, the New York Giants have had a hard time “getting it right” recently.
You’d have to go back to Mario Manningham (2008) to find a player who has made a somewhat decent contribution to the organization.
Other than that, the list is full of names like Ramses Barden, Jerrel Jernigan, Jayron Hosley, and Damontre Moore.
And the way it’s looking, defensive end Owa Odighizuwa and defensive tackle Jay Bromley could be the next group of third round blunders if they don’t start producing on the football field.
According to NJ.com’s Dan Duggan, both players are on “the hot seat” heading into training camp this season.
With the team drafting defensive end Avery Moss, Duggan expects one edge rusher to be “sent packing” this summer.
And it very well could be “Double O” who has zero career sacks in two seasons and almost quit the game back in April.
On the flip side, the team basically told Bromley how they felt about him after they drafted Dalvin Tomlinson as early as they did in the draft.
Duggan believes both he and fellow defensive tackle Robert Thomas will be “fighting” for a roster spot in training camp.
Bromley has just 55 tackles and one sack in three seasons.
