4 Players To Watch In Tonight's Preseason Opener
Valentino Blake
The Giants are looking for a fourth corner and free agent acquisition Valentino Blake is one of the few vying for that spot. According to Pro Football Focus, he's been miserable over the course of his career in coverage, as he's mainly made his impact on special teams, but he'll get a chance to shake that narrative tonight.
Evan Engram
Duh, who doesn't want to see what the first round pick looks like in game action? According to many reports from training camp, Evan Engram has worked well in the red zone, so it should be interesting to see if that carries over against real opponents.
Davis Webb
Again, this is another obvious choice. The Giants drafted Davis Webb in this year's draft to give them a potential option as the next franchise quarterback. He'll get a chance to show what he's got tonight.
Chad Wheeler
Interestingly enough, the Giants gave Undrafted free agent signing Chad Wheeler first-team reps at left tackle this week at practice. Obviously, that spot will be Ereck Flowers', but if Wheeler holds his own, then maybe he can challenge Bobby Hart for the starting spot at right tackle.

Football is back - sort of.

Unfortunately, guys like Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. aren't expected to play vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the preseason isn't about those guys.

The preseason is about guys like Victor Cruz or Terrell Davis, who earn a roster spot and meaningful playing time based on their play in these exhibition games.

So, let's look at 4 players who deserve an extra look, eh?
